THIS IS NOT A STORY
Notes:
This wasn't a hypertext -- I told it in one sequence. But I think you can see how it could be a hypertext.
This wasn't a story -- it's some sketches, fragments of stories that might be. Nothing is resolved yet. Nothing's even really begun. But I think you can see how it could be a story.
I've told in a fairly natural way but not chronologically. But, notice how I need to keep moving in space and time, how I circle and cycle. Not for artiness, just to make the action clear.
What will happen to Chieko? Will she find her wallet? How will she get home without it? And what's going home going to be like, after Jan (or someone) has made her a celebrity? How's she going to explain this to her department head? To her dad?
Will Ted be spending the night with Jan? Perhaps she'll wind up sleeping with Chieko. Or perhaps they'll go out to dinner with Professor Weiss, who may find that he does know somebody here, after all.
