dane is the creator of HELP.

Of his work, he writes:

I started making films in 16mm and tape

These films were influenced by cut-up writing and the ideas of Lyotard - the loss of the grand narrative, but the medium was grand and limited to the linear development of ideas.

Hypertext has given these narratives a form to express their content. The narratives are full of flamboyant adjectives that describe unidentifiable pronouns; the idea of something is more important than its substance.
