Passover

After Mom and Dad had another kid, Mom stayed home from work.

The first Passover that Daniel was old enough to give up eating bread, my mom didn't know what to feed him, so she brought him to visit me at work at 31 Flavors.

Daniel sat on the counter and watched me scoop. He knew flavors like other kids knew dinosaurs. I told Daniel tips for life like, "Pralines 'n' Cream makes cakes look lumpy."

I gave him little tastes in little spoons and he said, "I like going to your office better than Dad's."

I told him, "You have to clean out the shake mixer if it's Mint Chip because the pieces harden in the cracks." I tried to think of more to say. I wanted to say enough so he would remember who I was when I went away to college.
