Notes:
Dr. Weiss was in the audience, too.
He'd been out in the hall, sitting in a comfortable chair, chatting with old colleagues. But he thought he'd duck into the end of Jan's talk, just to see what Jan was up to this year.
Dr. Weiss traveled widely in his youth, although the accommodations were not what one could wish.
He doesn't travel much anymore. Travel through Europe is especially hard. The schlepping. The time change. The crowds in the airport.
It's all changed, of course. The streets are crowded, and some of them are familiar. But the faces are all different.
The people he knew, they are all gone.
